Neither Sarah nor Ruth were children of Stephen as shown by court documents naming their mother as Jane, not Elizabeth (see NEHGR, Vol. 59, p. 417). Stephen did have a daughter Ruth bp. Biddenden 8 Nov 1631 (see NEHGR, vol. 65, p. 187), but no daughter named Sarah. It is likely that Savage is also wrong to say Richard of Boston was a son of Stephen, as no evidence exists, but that has not been formally disproved. The baptism records of the four known daughters appear to cover the period from marriage to emigration, and since Stephen died on the voyage, it seems unlikely that he had any opportunity to have had a son Richard. --Jrich 15:02, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
