19 Oct. of that yr. to be made freem. but was not sw. until 7 Aug. 1632,
by w. Joanna, had Mary, b. Apr. 1633, d. at 7 yrs.; John, 22 Apr. 1635;
Martha, Apr. 1636, d. soon; Mary, again; Israel, 3 June 1642, d. next
yr. by the Gen. Ct. appoint. constable 1636; rem. to Boston, bec. one of
the found. and a deac. of sec. ch. 5 June 1650. His w. d. 22 Oct. 1675,
says the rec. and gr-st. 24 Oct. aged 80 yrs. but perhaps exagger. or
copied wrong. In Jan. foll.he m. wid. Sarah Minor, and d. 16 Dec. 1682,
aged 77. His only ch. that reac. matur. Mary, m. George Munjoy of
Falmouth, and after him Robert Lawrence of the same. JOHN, Plymouth
1640, aft. of Marshfield, had John and other ch. b. in Eng. m.
for sec. w. 14 Mar. 1667, Faith, wid. of Edward Dotey, wh. d. the same
yr. says Miss Thomas, p. 83, and he d. 1677, says Winsor. But Shurtleff,
who gives a full memoir of him, says he was of Duxbury 1643, by
first w. whose name is unkn.had John, Samuel, Jeremiah, and Mary;
the eldest, prob. John, was k. by lightning, 31 July 1658, as by the Coroner's
inq. four days after, is shown; that his sec. w. was Grace, m. 1654,
wid. of William Holloway, and she, with his s. Jeremiah was k. by lightning
23 June 1666, when William Shurtleff, ancest. of the disting. antiq.
was k. by the same bolt; and that the third w. Faith d. 1667, by wh. he
had no ch. but by the sec. had Hannah; Grace; Joseph, b. 1655, wh.
was, says Miss Thomas, k. at rehoboth fight, 1676; and Benjamin; and
that he prob. d. Oct. 1691, almost 90 yrs. old, leav. Samuel, Benjamin,
and Mary. Both of these s. had fams. see also, Thomas's Memo. of
Marshfield. JOHN, Duxbury 1643, may be that apprent. wh. went from
Boston 1631, but there is no certainty as to that apprent. JOHN Wenham
1647, nam. in the will of Christopher Young as trustee with charge
to take his s. JOHN, called a Welshman, Casco 1642, perhaps freem. of
1658, rem. to Kittery, was liv. 1684, aged 77. Willis I. 69. JOHN,
Boston, by w. Mary had Mary, b. 13 July 1652; Sarah, 29 June 1654,
d. same day; and Mary, again, 5 Aug. 1658; and the same, or ano. of
the same name. by w. Sarah had John, 4 Mar. 1662. ‡ * JOHN, Charlestown,
perhaps br. of Henry, was a master mariner, m. 19 July 1655,
Catharine, d. of John Anderson, had Catharine, b. 30, bapt. 31 Aug.
1662; Samuel, 16, bapt. 21 Feb. 1664; both d. early; Mehitable, 1,
bapt. 2 July 1668; Abigail, 19 June 1670; Catharine, again, 23, bapt.
25 June 1672; John, 18, bapt. 23 Mar. 1673, d. at 2 yrs.; Mary, bapt.
14 Mar. 1676; Anderson, 11 July 1680; and henry, 4 Dec. 1681. He
was freem. 1677, ar. co. 1680, its capt. 1685, rep. 1683-6. of the Comtee.
of safety on the revo. against Andros, nam. in the new chart. of the
Council, but by pop. vote chos. bef. and so contin. to 1716, col. of the
milit. treas. of the Prov. Judge of the County Ct. and such serv. were
successiv. enjoy. by him. His w. d. 24 Feb. and was bur. 2 Mar. 1699,
