Usage Tips

The book contains three main sections. The first section relates biographical information for Presidents of the United States up to Benjamin Harrison, 23rd President. The second section an Introduction to the county and and rail transportation, with specific sections devoted to the Wabash; the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad and Leased Lines; and the Quincy, Omaha & Kansas City Railway. The second section closes with a brief section on River Traffic. The third section is devoted to biographical sketches of residents.

There is also a "hidden item" buried in the biographies on pages 410 and 413, an article about "The Herald Company", publisher of the Quincy Herald newspaper.
