Description

From The Brantley Association: Hancock County was one of the earliest counties in Georgia and many genealogical researchers should be interested in these publications as well as the citizens of the area. These minutes deal primarily with guardianships and administrations of estates. They were completed with the support of the R.J. Taylor Foundation.

Vol. 1 (1799-1817)

Released in April 1999, it is the first minutes record book of Hancock County, Georgia to be published. This volume is entitled "Hancock County Georgia - Court of Ordinary Minutes 1799-1817" and contains the transcription of the original 780 pages of the court minutes. The index contains some 10,000 name entries of persons, once of residence there.

Vol. 2 (1817-1837)

Released [?1999?] This book: "Hancock County Georgia - Court of Ordinary Minutes 1817-1837" which contains ...

Vol. 3 (1838-1863

Released September 15, 2000. This volume is entitled "Hancock County Georgia - Court of Ordinary Minutes 1837-1863" and contains the transcription of two Court of Ordinary books, 1837-1853 and 1853-1863, representing 803 pages from the original books. Index included.
