The purpose of this book is to aid in the preservation of the history of Mingo Coutny and its people."--P. iv Contents: v. [1]. 1895-1995 -- v. 2. 1895-1999. Vol. [1] is arranged in alphabetical order by names of individuals "and consists of information from vital statistics, family histories, newspaper articles and obituaries, family Bible records, personal interviews and cemetery inventories integrated into biographical sketches of some Mingo County families."--P. iv Vol. 2 contains historical sketches of towns, county and several events; additions/corrections to v. 1; list and locations of cemeteries; tombstone inscriptions from Frank and Virginia Stepp Blair Cemetery, Ellison Hatfield Cemetery, Hollywood Cemetery, Waldron Cemetery and White Cemetery; index to those cemeteries; list of some WW I veterans buried in Mingo County; biographical sketches; and other information. Library has bound v. 1-2 together.
