West Godavari District (Telugu: పశ్చిమ గోదావరి జిల్లా) is one of the 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh, India; the district headquarters is the city of Eluru. The district had a population of 3,934,782, 19.74% of which is urban population as of 2011 [1]. "Yaantiki" is the official word of West Godavari. The district is in the delta region of the Krishna and Godavari rivers.
