Wallington is a village and civil parish in northern Hertfordshire, to the east of the town of Baldock. The author George Orwell (real name Eric Arthur Blair) lived here and ran the village shop - in his novel 'Animal Farm', the eponymous farm is reputedly based upon Manor Farm at Wallington.
