The civil parish of St. Columb Minor Rural was created in 1894 from part of St. Columb Minor Civil Parish. In 1902 its size was reduced by transferring a portion to Newquay Civil Parish. In 1934 it was abolished completely with its area transferred almost equally between the civil parishes of Colan and Newquay. St. Columb Minor Rural was located in St. Columb Major Rural District for the whole of its existence.
