Snitter is a village and civil parish in Northumberland, England. It is near the Northumberland National Park. The closest town is Rothbury.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Snitter from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"SNITTER, a township in Rothbury parish, Northumberland; 2½ miles WNW of Rothbury. Acres: 1,083. Population: 134. Houses: 32. "

Snitter was a township in the ancient parish of Rothbury and became a separate civil parish in 1866. From 1894 until 1955 it was part of Rothbury Rural District. In 1955 the civil parish absorbed the surrounding parishes of Flotterton and Warton. In 1974 rural districts were abolished and Snitter became part of the Alnwick District until 2009 when Northumberland became a unitary authority.
