Rutherford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of 2000, the population was 182,023. This grew when the 2005 estimate placed the population at 218,292. Its county seat is Murfreesboro6, which is also the geographic center of Tennessee, as well as the center of population of Tennessee [1].
