A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Neswick from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"NESWICK, a township in Bainton parish, [East Riding of] Yorkshire; 4¼ miles S W of Great Driffield. Acres: 960. Real property: £1,675. Pop.: 66. Houses: 12. Neswick Hall is a chief residence."

Historically, Neswick was in the ecclesiastical parish of Bainton in the wapentake of Harthill. From 1894 until 1935, Neswick was a civil parish in Driffield Rural District. In 1935 it was absorbed back into the parish of Bainton.
