A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Nesbit (near Hexham) from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"NESBIT, a township in Stamfordham parish, Northumberland; 9½ miles E N E of Hexham. Acres: 843. Population: 41. Houses: 7."

Nesbit (near Hexham) was a township in the ancient parish of Stamfordham and became a separate civil parish in 1866. In 1955 the civil parish was abolished and the area was absorbed back into the parish of Stamfordham.

Nesbit or Nesbitt could not be found on Google Earth. The old Ordnance Survey maps (see below) locate the parish as bounded by Ouston and Cheeseburn Grange on the north, Whitchester on the east, Harlow Hill on the south, and East Matfen on the west.
