Until 1965 the parish of Midloe was located in the County of Huntingdonshire. After mergers in 1965 and 1974 the county became part of Cambridgeshire. It was part of the St. Neots Rural District until 1974 and is now in the Huntingdonshire administrative district of Cambridgeshire.
In 1935 Midloe, along with a neighbouring parish named Southoe, was abolished and the area was merged into one civil parish named Southoe and Midloe. Midloe had only 40 inhabitants in 1931, the census prior to the merger. Southoe had 211 at the same time. It is located near Diddington, north of the town of St. Neots.
The parish was an extra parochial area prior to becoming a civil parish in 1858.
