A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Llanvihangel near Roggiett from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"LLANVIHANGEL-NEAR-ROGGIETT, a parish in Chepstow [registration] district, Monmouth[shire]; on the South Wales railway, 1¾ mile ENE of Magor [railway] station, and 6½ SW by W of Chepstow. Post town: Chepstow. Acres: 557. Rated property: £755. Population: 36. Houses: 7. The property is divided among a few. The living is a rectory, annexed to the rectory of Roggiett, in the diocese of Llandaff. The church is good."

The hamlet and separate parish of Llanfihangel Rogiet is located immediately west of Rogiet itself, and derives its name from the Welsh name for the church of St. Michael (Llan-f/vihangel). It was established before the Norman invasion, but the current Church of St Michael and All Angels again dates from about the 14th century, with much later rebuilding, and contains medieval tombs. Unlike Rogiet, Llanfihangel has remained relatively untouched by modern development and has continued as a separate parish. (Source: Wikipedia).
