Lingfield is a village, civil parish and post town in the Tandridge district of Surrey, England. Lingfield Park is home to horse racing across a large catchment from Folkestone to Epsom. Lingfield is centred south of London and lies to the east of the A22 where it runs between Godstone and East Grinstead. The village has a medieval church that is Grade I listed, timber-frame architecture from the Tudor period and century before and a punishment cage, last used in 1882 to hold a poacher, made in 1773.

Lingfield was part of the Godstone Rural District from 1894 until 1974 and of the Tandridge District since 1974.

Dormansland or Dorman's Land

Dormansland is a large village and civil parish with a low population approximately one mile south of Lingfield. It was founded in the 19th century and is bordered on the east by the county of Kent and on the south by West Sussex and East Sussex, the only area of the county which borders East Sussex. The nearest town is the large town of East Grinstead, immediately across the West Sussex border. It would appear that Dormansland became a civil parish since Tandridge District was formed in 1974.
