Langthorpe is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated to the immediate north of Boroughbridge on the A168 road.
The nearest settlements are Boroughbridge 0.5 miles (0.80 km) to the south; Milby 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to the north-east; Kirby Hill 0.7 miles (1.1 km) to the north and Skelton on Ure 1.9 miles (3.1 km) to the west. The 2001 UK Census recorded the parish population as 774 in 327 dwellings.
A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Langthorpe from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "LANGTHORPE, a township in Kirkby-on-the-Moor parish, [North Riding of] Yorkshire; on the river Ouse, 1 mile NW of Borrowbridge. Acres, 556. Real property: £2,510. Population: 252. Houses: 57. There are flour mills, bone mills, oil mills, and a nail manufactory."
Historically, Langthorpe was in the ecclesiastical parish of Kirby Hill in the wapentake of Halikeld. From 1894 until 1974, Langthorpe was located in Thirsk Rural District. In 1974 the area became part of the Harrogate District of North Yorkshire.
