Hinganghat is a town and a municipal council in Wardha district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Located about twenty-one miles southeast of the city of Wardha, the town is located on the banks of Vena River, a tributary of the Wardha River which joins to the Pranhita River, which ultimately flows into the Godavari River and on NH 7 which starts from Varanasi to Kanyakumari 70 km south of Nagpur

Hinganghat has been, in the past, a center of the Indian cotton trade, as it is located in the fertile Wardha Valley. Hinganghat is best tahsil in vidharbha region.

Baba Amte India's Social and moral leader, was born 24 December 1914) at Hinganghat. William Lambton a British soldier, surveyor, and geographer died at Hinganghat on 19 January 1823 when he was working on the Great Trigonometric Survey.
