A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Great and Little Snarehill from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1871-72:

"SNAREHILL, an extra-parochial tract in Thetford [registration] district, Norfolk; 1 mile E of Thetford. Population: 28. Houses: 5."

A Vision of Britain through Time provides another description of Great and Little Snarehill from John Bartholmew's Gazetteer of the British Isles of 1887 (about 15 years later):

"Snarehill, Great and Little, par., Norfolk, 1 mile E. of Thetford, 4623 ac. (including part of Rushford), pop. 52."

Great and Little Snarehill was an extraparochial tract just southwest of Thetford. It was made a civil parish in 1858. It was part of Thetford Rural District from 1894 until 1935 when it was absorbed into the neighbouring parish of Brettenham.
