[edit] Dowdeswell parish
Dowdeswell is a civil parish in the Cotswold District of the county of Gloucestershire, England. It is separated into Upper and Lower Dowdeswell, the former being south of the latter. It was formerly part of the Northleach Rural District. About 7.1 km (4.4 mi) to the northwest is Cheltenham, and 19 km (12 mi) to the west is Gloucester. In 2001, the parish had a population of 185. [edit] AndoversfordAndoversford (redirected here) is a village and located geographically within the old parish of Dowdeswell, about six miles east of Cheltenham. It is now considered a separate parish with a population of 668 according to the 2001 census. A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Horsley from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
