Cumberland County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. It was formed in 1799. As of 2010, the population was 6,856. Its county seat is Burkesville. The county is named for the Cumberland River, which in turn may have been named after the Duke of Cumberland, the victor of the Battle of Culloden, or the English county of Cumberland.

It dry county, which means that the sale of alcohol is prohibited.
