Carlton Curlieu is a small village and civil parish in the Harborough District of southeast Leicestershire, England, about eleven miles southeast of Leicester city centre, and not far from Kibworth. The Domesday Survey of 1086 listed 24 inhabitants and by 1563 there were 25 households. According to the 2001 UK census, the parish had a population of 30. Since the population remained less than 100 at the 2011 census, the number of inhabitants are combined with those of the neighbouring civil parish of Ilston on the Hill. A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Carlton Curlieu from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
