Boone County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is part of the Boone, Iowa, Micropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Boone County, Iowa, and which, when combined with the Ames, Iowa Metropolitan Statistical Area, comprises the larger Ames-Boone, Iowa Combined Statistical Area. The population was 26,306 in the 2010 census, an increase from 26,224 in 2000.[1][2] Its county seat is Boone.
