Arkesden is a village and civil parish in Essex, England. It is located 4.3 miles (7 km) southwest of Saffron Walden, is around 6 miles from Bishop's Stortford in the neighbouring county of Hertfordshire and is 22 miles (35 km) northwest from the county town of Chelmsford. The village church is St Mary's. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 363.

The parish was part of the Saffron Walden Rural District from 1894 until 1974. Since 1974 it has been located in the Uttlesford District of Essex.
