Marriage date of John Johnston and unknown Ramsey wife [2 April 2016]

The Johnston family records from "Family Records" a 1958 memorandum by Marguerite Parrish show the marriage date of John Johnston and his Ramsey wife as "1780." I do not know where the "1766" marriage date originated. The Ramsey/Boyd family migration from Augusta Co., VA to Mecklenburg Co., NC was not until 1768, and prior to the migration the Augusta Co., VA deed conveyance from William Ramsey to his mother, Margaret Ramsey, is dated in Nov. 1767. The Johnston family records showing a 1780 marriage date is from the original family record.
