Only one wife

FYI, I've removed all the extraneous spouses of Thomas Rogers. As found at Ancestry of Mayflower Thomas Rogers (Genealogist 10:xxx), there was only one -- Alice Cosford -- and any other Thomas Rogers marriages are not specific to THIS Thomas Rogers. jillaine 08:43, 4 April 2009 (EDT)

Old message from Dallan about copyright

Unfortunately, we can't copy wikipedia content into Person and Family pages because we're dual-licensing Person and Family page content under GFDL and also CC-BY-SA. So people can copy content from WeRelate into Wikipedia (due to the GFDL license), or include it in printed books without needing to include the 4-page GFDL license (due to the CC-BY-SA license, which doesn't require including the text of the license, only a link). But we can't copy content from Wikipedia into Person and Family pages because Wikipedia content is licensed solely under GFDL, not under both. (See WeRelate:Licensing and WeRelate talk:Licensing for discussion on this topic.) If enough people want, we can drop the CC-BY-SA license in the future. One of the reasons we went with dual-licensing is that we can easily change from dual to single-licensing, but it's not possible to change from single to dual-licensing without getting permission from every contributor.

I wrote the above explanation in case you wanted to add your opinion about Person and Family page licensing. But the solution in this case is very simple - reword the sentence so that we're not violating copyright, and change the template from copy- to source-, which I'll take care of.--Dallan 09:53, 9 December 2006 (MST)

If only one wife, who is Elsgen, widow, still in Leiden? [23 September 2009]

The text on the person page makes reference to a widow of Thomas, Elsgen (Elizabeth), still in Leiden. If there was only one wife, Alice, then who was Elsgen? jillaine 10:21, 23 September 2009 (EDT)

Why did the link to Thomas of Watertown go away? [24 September 2009]

What am I missing? It's a great practice to do such cross-linking.--Amelia 23:48, 23 September 2009 (EDT)
