Why were parents changed? [16 June 2023]

Jim: Can you please add to the page the justification for changing the parents? I know Ewing had a son Joseph, but given the estate record cited here, I don't know of anything definitively tying this man to Ewing as opposed to Joseph. Thanks, --Amelia 16:28, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

He seemed to fit as a son of Ewing, which appeared to agree with some other Ancestry submitters [obviously they're not always right and some are obviously flawed]. If you think he fits with Joseph, feel free to switch him back. I was working a related family and decided to add some records and other related families. Hope you don't mind. Regards, Jim:)

I don't mind edits, and thanks for the Ewing additions, but there are at least three Josephs and two Peters in this family, and these lines are historically epically screwed up online, so Ancestry just can't be trusted (the MorrowDNA project has spent 10 years untangling the mess created by Ray and others). I don't remember now exactly why I have him as son of Joseph, but I would have considered the various places to put him, and the published source that's listed, and put him there. In the absence of a reason to switch him, I'm going to revert.--Amelia 21:15, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Publicly disavowing my prior statements, having reviewed the underlying land and estate records and determining that this is, without a doubt, the son of Ewing. See explanation here and reverting parents.--Amelia 01:32, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
