Person talk:Margaret de Holland (1)

Naming [4 November 2009]

JRM, Despite the fact Wikipedia calls her Margaret Beaufort, she should correctly be named Margaret Holland or Margaret de Holland.--Scot 12:35, 3 November 2009 (EST)

At some point a general effort will need to occur to back off the WP names in favor of genealogically correct conventions (presumably leaving the WP name as a married or other form). Not sure I want to take that on while there still so much left to do though... --Jrm03063 21:12, 3 November 2009 (EST)

I finished my upload last night, strangely as I was checking some pages I kept finding that some of the persons and families had been deleted last January when a user "Pate" removed his tree. Why would the search engine find deleted pages instead of the ones Ijust uploaded? Should I continue by uploading more, or should we pursue a different course of action? It seems to access this data and generate a GEDCOM, you must start by searching for a specific person and work from there. How to do this systematically is my question. Any suggestions?--Scot 12:33, 4 November 2009 (EST)

My guess would be that the search engine is working with keys that are not instantly updated. I've regularly noticed that the search of, say, pages with "wikipepedia-notice" on them, lags the actual state of things by up to an hour or two. --Jrm03063 12:38, 4 November 2009 (EST)
