Thanks. See my comment on the talk page for John's mother, Alice. Is there any basis for her name to be Parcett or Parchett? I keep seeing references for John Austen alias Waterbury, buried 1596 at Sudbury. Could this be a name change due to the disbanding of the Monasteries in 1538, Austen being a diminutive form of Augustinian or Augustin. There was an Augustinian monastery at Sudbury and also one at Stowmarket less than 10 miles North. FWIW, the Lockwood's came from Combs, immediately South of Stowmarket.
