Sorry for the delay in my reply. John's second wife filed a Widow's Application for Pension citing John's Civil War service and stated he served in Company A, 9th Battalion Louisiana Infantry, CSA. I found a listing for a John MacMorris on Ancestry.com in the U.S. Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles database stating Company E, Louisiana 29th Infantry Regiment. I have not had a chance to research more to see which one is correct or if the Ancestry.com entry is even the same John McMorris.--mcmorris1974 08:40, 3 August 2011 (EDT)
