Person talk:John Hall (138)

Birthplace [9 March 2009]

It would be truly exceptional for John Hall to have been born in Wallingford prior to its founding, and also to have emigrated from London to Boston in 1633. I believe the "England" birthplace, and want to see if the "Coventry" birthplace is correct. To that end I wish to investigate the following FHL microfilms:

  • Parish registers and poor law records for Holy Trinity Church, Coventry, 1561-1909: film #1067410 " General register (baptisms, marriages, burials), 1561-1812; Baptisms, 1813-1824"
  • Registers of the Church of Holy Trinity, Coventry, Warwickshire: film #6204451 "Pt. 2. Baptisms, 1561-1653, and index (4 fiches)"
  • A transcript of parish register, 1561-1745: film #1657254--JoshHansen 19:28, 9 March 2009 (EDT)
The John Hall alleged to have come from Coventry, Warwickshire, and who emigrated in 1633, lived in Boston, Charlestown, Barnstable and Yarmouth, but never in Connecticut. In addition, there is apparently no evidence of a Coventry origin. See The Great Migration Begins II:840-44.--jaques1724 11:10, 29 November 2011 (EST)
