Civil War [9 November 2011]

We're trying to mark all of the Civil War veterans here on WeRelate. I did a bit of digging to verify that the Charles Broadbent in the 18th Massachusetts was the same as the on in the 137th Illinois. According to the Organization Index to Civil War and Later Pensions (images on Fold3.com), they are not the same. The one who was in the 18th Massachusetts was apparently dead before 1892, as that's when his father applied for a pension based on the son's service.
