Person talk:Corneliske Emes (1)

place of birth [4 July 2015]

What makes it sure that Corneliske was born in Zuidhorn and is the same Korneliske who married Rieuwert Okkes 24-11-1748 in Hornhuizen.--Kvanderschaaf 17:57, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

FYI, here is a stamboom (Sevinga) which also has this connection.
I had written about how unimpressive this match was, but I just found a child Eeme for Jan and Corneliske, and that has given me a great deal more confidence in the match. But then again the fact that the father's name is Eeme/Emo is true regardless of whether or not the match is correct. So the three reasons to be suspicious of the match still are valid:
a. This Corneliske Emes is a fair bit older than Jan Riewerts. That's not unheard of, but it is unusual.
b. This Corneliske Emes was baptized in Noordhorn, but the marriage record says 'van Pieterburen'. Again, the marriage record lists the place of residence, not the birthplace, so it is not mandatory to have a match, but Pieterburen to Noordhorn is a fair distance for that era.
c. The daughters are named Jantjen, Anje, and Nieske. Jantjen is clearly for the paternal grandmother. But if the match is correct, one would expect a Geertruid to have priority over names for other female family members.
