Research Notes [3 January 2015]

I scanned the yearly indices from 1818 - 1823 for these gemeenten:

• Aalten
• Dinxperlo
• Winterswijk
• Wisch

I found several van Braak listings under Wisch. (But not the one I was looking for.) They may all have been the children of Willem van Braak (1785-1850) and Wesselina Vriezen (1784-1848).

There is an Adolphus Laurens van den Braak in Voorburg, Zuid-Holland. He was born in 1804, so he is too old to be this Adolf. And his children are all born after 1834, so they are all too young to be this Adolf.

Many thanks to Yvette Hoitink, who tracked Adoph down in the bevolkingsregister and discovered that he was much older than the US records indicated, so that his birth was in the Varsseveld registry and not the Wisch registry. He was indeed a child of Willem van Braak and Wesselina/Wendeliena Vriezen. --pkeegstra 15:01, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
