Leischner, 64, is survived by his widow Zelah; one son Kermit of Parkston, three dauthers: Mrs. Andres Wolson of Ely, MN; Mrs. Al Solay of Parkston, and Miss Karlene Leischner of De Smet; one brother, Emil of Rochester, WA; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey Taylor of Alexandria and Mrs. Jim Simmons of Piedmont and six grandchildren. (b) Zelah M. Leischner was born on July 10, 1902 to William Sherman and Mary (nee Marshall) Braucht at Warren County, Iowa. She united in marriage to Edward 24 Nov. 1919 at Parkston, SD. They farmed near Parkston for 54 years and retired to town in 1949. Mr. Leichner died in 1959. She was very active member of the Women's Relief Corps. She died at her home Sep. 24, 1983 at age 81y 2m 14d. Survivors include son Kermit of Parkston; one daughter Mrs. Dean (Darlene) Keefe of Littleton, CO; one step-dau, Mrs. Andrew (Norma) Olson of Ely, MN; one sister Ehtel Bevens of Aurora, OR; 8 grandchildren 12 step-grandchildren and 24 step-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Eldora Solay, on brother, Don, and one sister, Hazel. |
