Obituary (paraphrased): Mrs. Edward Leischner died at her home 7 miles East of Parkston Thursday Feb. 22, 1917; leaving to mourn are her husband and little daughter, father, mother, and sisters. She was buried at Parkston Cem. Feb. 24th. Hazel, wife of Edward Leischner was born at Indianola, Iowa and in 1908 came to the Mitchell area with her parents. She married Edward 21 Nov. and leaves one daughter, Norma, age 18 months. Several weeks ago she took sick with pneumonia From abroad were present to attend the funeral her parents, brothers, sisters, three aunts, and a cousin. (I wonder about the "from abroad" phrase). Aug. 2000 email from leis@gateway.net provided added data on Leischner people and mentioned that her sister found "Hazel Jessie Braught marriage record to Edward Leischner at Mitchell, SD". July 2001 Patti Leischner emailed (pallap@pionet.net) that she had obits for Hazel and Zelah Braught.
