Facts and Events
Wylanne was a graduate of the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio sometime around 1930. She later returned to college in the fifties and earned her teaching certificate at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She spent many years with Stanley Home Products in Mansfield and Cleveland, Ohio. Stanley was much like today's Amway. Stanley representatives demonstrated their products at parties hosted by people in their homes. They usually had previously purchased Stanley products at other peoples homes. Those people that hosted the parties received gifts or premiums for doing so. After she earned her teaching certificate, Wylanne became a first grade teacher at Milford Elementary School in the Cleveland Public Schools. She was teaching there at the time of her death. About January 22, 1964 she fell ill with what appeared to be the flu. She stayed in bed for a few days and was talking to her son Larry in her room when she died. Wedding Announcement from an unknown newspaper: Miss Wylanne Harper, 2217 21st st.
