Wyatt Coleman was a son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Wyatt) Coleman.
In May 1748 he chose Edward Wiatt to contest the probate of his father's will. Then in November of 1749, he chose William Green of Culpeper Co., to be his guardian.
Wyatt was living in Caroline Co., Virginia in 1757. He is said to have married Sarah Lindsey before 1764 in Caroline Co., Virginia. By August 3, 1765, he and his wife were living in Culpeper County.
It appears that they had eight children. (Revolutionary War Pension Application of John Crow W18978.)

According to the research of Ana Frances Edwards Wilayto in her thesis entitled, "Robert Cowley: Living Free During Slavery in Eighteenth-Century Richmond, Virginia," Wyatt Coleman was a Revolutionary War veteran who later served as Keeper of the Capital until April 1795.
