    An account found among the papers of John Milnes, Esq. shows Thomas Gregory (should be Gregson) as having married a Ann Twiford, daughter and heir of William Twiford of Sherrow Hall. It is through this marriage that the Gregson's came into possession of Sherrow Hall.
