    An account found among the papers of John Milnes, Esq. shows Thomas Gregory (should be Gregson) as having married an Ann Twiford, daughter and heir of William Twiford of Sherrow Hall. It is through this marriage that the Gregson's came into possession of Sherrow Hall.
