At Billerica he had a gr. in 1658-9 provid. he build a corn-mill in two yrs., and ano. of 44 a., void in 1663, as he and br. John had trouble with the town and he did not settle. At Scarboro, appraised the Heffer est. 14 Apr. 1661, and remained. Constable 1664; j. 1666; gr.j. 1675, 1676. … Freed from training in July 1675, but his ho. a garrison 1675-1676, where Henry Brookings depos. he refused to receive hims. and fam., saying his ch. would eat the victuals right out of his pot. Marblehead 1679-1680. Daniel Fogg depos. That he ret. to Scarb., fitted up his ho. and put in one Green(28) as tenant; David Libby said he ret. and liv. there until the next war. Taxed 1681 for 100 + 12 a., 3 mares, 1 cow, 2 horses. He d. at Salem 2 Dec. 1691, ag. -80-, having fallen and cut his knee two weeks bef. Wid. Rebecca (Scadlock 2) and s. Ephraim sold the Scarb. land to Richard Long(6) 15 Nov. 1693. Her will, 1716—1720, names s. Ephraim, 4 daus. Ch: Godfrey, k. by Ind. 3 July 1690, ag. 24 (Salem rec.). At Salem, a s. of Godfrey was rec. ____ 13 [1694-5?] Ephraim, … had w. Jane and 6 ch. at Salem, the first 3 bp. in 1700, incl. William (m. 5 Oct. 1714 Mary Roberts of Reading, dau. of Abraham 2) and Ephriam (m. Isabella Haines 2). Mary (Ray in 1716). Lydia, b. 1666 (death rec), m. Ambrose Boaden(5). Sarah (Goodall in 1716). Rebecca (not in will). Nathaniel, d. at Salem 30 Nov. 1688, ag. 10; 'well Monday, sick Tuesday, distracted Thursday, died Friday.'
