"Rebecca Scadlock … m. by 1663 William Sheldon (in his will of 13 March 1663/4, 'Godfrey Shelden of the town of Scarborough alias Bl[ack] Point, planter, aged sixty- five or thereabouts,' ordered 'eldest son William' to 'give unto his wife Rebaccah ten shillings, and unto her brother Sam[ue]ll Scarlett [sic] I give five shillings'; 'sam[ue]ll Scadlocke' made his mark as witness to the will [Maine Wills 20])."
