Rachel Montgomery was the married name of Rachel Patterson, one of four children (Arthur, Josiah, Elizabeth and Rachel...all born between September, 1787 and May, 1794 in Lincoln County, NC) born to William Patterson and Ann (Alexander) Cunningham Patterson.
After the August 27, 1793 death of William Patterson, Ann went on to marry twice more, finally ending up as Ann (Alexander) Cunningham Patterson Holmes Craig/Crage.
