[Anc Wm Harrison Norvell from jenorv66.ged] Linneus obituary: "Another Pioneer Moves On William Harrison Norvell, whose death took place at the home of his son, L on Norvell, in Clay township, on the 15th inst., was aged 83 years, 11 mon ths and 25 days. He was an old settler of this county, having lived in Li nn over 60 years. He was the last of a large family of brother and siste r, children of Francis Norvell who came here from Kentucky. Mr Norvell f or a time lived in Linneus with his daughter, Mrs. Gillespie. He was a vet eran of the civil war, a good citizen and a kind neighbor. He leaves six c hildren, Mrs. W. H. Gillespie, by his first wife. By his second marriag e, James, Warner and Alonzo, of Linn county., Walter, somewhere in the wes t, Mrs. Kate Martin of Laredo. He was an uncle of Mrs. D. L. Williams of L inneus. The burial took place at Mt. Olive church, Jackson twp., on the Sunday [ 16 Jul 1916] following his death" 1 2 References
