"He was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, September 24, 1856, and when but four months old he came with his parents to Newton, Jasper county, Iowa arriving here January 17, 1857, and the next day proceeded to Edenville, Marshall county, and here the subject remained about eighteen months and then came to State Center."
