William's mother Sarah Marshall is hard to identify. One possibility is that she was the Sarah Marsall baptised at Luton in 1780, who has not otherwise been traced after her baptism. Alternatively, there was a 19 year old Sarah Marshall buried six days before this baptism, who has yet to be linked to any of the other Marshalls living in Luton around this time.
