DEATH: Received the following from Phil Seldon 27 Oct 2003 Benzie Banner 6 April 1905 Vol XVII No. 6 

  William G. Knight was born 73 years ago in Kirtland,Ohio. He was the next oldest resident here, having moved to this place in  1860. He was married in 1866 to Miss Sophia Johnson, who preceded him to the spirit world about 18 years ago. During the early years of residence here Mr. Knight entered the employ of Uncle Sam and carried the mail from Manistee to Old Mission on foot, making two trips a week. Later on he tried farming but his health failing him, he left the farm and moved to town. About 7 years ago he married Mrs. Sophia Wilcox, with whom he lived until his last illness, she dying on Friday and he on the Wednesday following. Mr. Knight is survived by two sons, Bert, of Lorraine, Ohio, and Ward, of Lewiston, Idaho, and two brothers,Spencer Knight of Cleveland, and another brother in New York State.
