    William Kerr was the son of Robert Kerr and Elizabeth Bailey (married in "1763"). He married Mary Ann Grove, the daughter of Windle Grove, on about 22 Dec 1796, in Augusta County, Virginia. Mary's father lived on an adjoining farm.
