About William T. Holloran
William T. Holloran was born abt. 1888 in Missouri [1930 U.S. Census]. By 1909, he was living in Denver, Colorado and was listed for several years in the Denver City Directory as a driver, living at 2128 California St. In 1912, William T. Holloran was listed as a driver for the Smith-Brooks Pig. Co. and living at 1258 Champa. Living nearby was a Thomas Holloran, cigarman, living at 1309 Champa, who may be related [needs research]. In 1915 and 1916, William T. Holloran was listed as still driving for Smith-Brooks Pig. Co, living at 4266 Tennyson.
In 1919, William Holloran is listed on the Railroad Employment Records in California, starting his employment on 15 June 1919 and working as a "carpenter's helper" in the railroad's Los Angeles Division. In 1923 and 1931, William T. Holloran ls listed in the Glendale City Directory living at 1823 S. San Fernando Road with his wife "Beth".
Daughter Jane was born 1918 in Colorado and was listed in the 1920 Census with her mother and older sister Margaret [age 9], living with their grandparents, John Jones and his wife Ann. Missing from the 1920 census was William T. Holloran, who may have been working away from home, or perhaps serving in the military. [additional research necessary]
In 1930, William T. Halloran, age 42, born in Missouri, parents both born in Missouri, is listed in the U.S. Census living in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California in the 65th Assembly District. His occupation is listed as a carpenter in the building industry, although he is listed as not being employed at the time of the census. He is listed with wife "Elizabeth", age 41, born in Wisconsin, her parents both born in Wales; daughter Margaret R. Halloran, age 19, born in Colorado, working as a telephone operator; and sister-in-law Hannah Johnes [Jones], age 39, born in Colorado, working as a packer in the printing industry.
In 1933, William T. and Elizabeth Holloran had another child, son William Arden Holloran, born some 15 years after his older sister Jane. It is known from a biography of the younger William Holloran that he was raised by his grandparents, and that his older sister Margaret, who had married Harry V. O'Brien, died on 1 June 1943 in Los Angeles County, California. William was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, who passed away on 24 August 1955 in Los Angeles County, California, and his daughter Jane appears to have also died before her parents, as she was not listed in her mother's obituary.
