    :On this third day of February – personally appeared in open Court, before the Honorable William J. Alston Judge of the County Court of Marengo now sitting William Hillhouse, Senior a resident of township 18, range five, East in the County of Marengo and State of Alabama, aged 73 years on the 18 of March last; who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath, make the following declaration, in order to attain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7, 1832....
