Research Notes

  • William was a general in the Revolutionary War. They lived on a plantation in Orangeburg County.
  • William with his brother John, and sisters, Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Potter and Mrs. Beckham and his cousin,, Colonel James Williams (Killed at King Mountain) all settled at Grindal Shoals (now Union County, was Craven County, NC).
